Naneghat Stargazing Camping Event Itinerary

Itinerary from Mumbai

Day 1 – Journey to the Stars

  • 9:45 AM – Meet at Borivali National Park main gate.
  • 10:00 AM – Depart for Malshej Ghat, your gateway to a magical night under the stars.
  • 11:00 AM – Pickup at Andheri WEH.
  • 11:30 AM – Pickup at Kalanagar bus stop, Bandra.
  • 12:00 PM – Pickup at Sion station circle.
  • 12:15 PM – Pickup at Amar Mahal, Ghatkopar.
  • 1:00 PM – Pickup at Teen Hath Naka, Thane.
  • 1:40 PM – Pickup at Kalyan Bypass.
  • 3:00 PM – Lunch break (self-sponsored) en route.

  • 5:00 PM – Arrive at the scenic stargazing campsite, nestled in nature.
  • 5:30 PM – Refresh with a hot cup of tea, relax, and set up your tents.
  • 6:00 PM – Enjoy a mesmerizing sunset over the horizon.
  • 7:00 PM – Introduction to the night sky – learn about planets, stars, and celestial wonders.
  • 7:30 PM – Constellation session – trace the patterns of the universe.
  • 8:30 PM – Telescope viewing – get a closer look at deep-sky objects.
  • 9:30 PM – Dinner break – enjoy a delicious meal under the open sky.
  • 10:30 PM – Cosmic conversations, more telescope viewing, and astrophotography guidance.
  • 12:30 AM – Wind down and rest in cozy tents under a blanket of stars or click astro pictures of Milkyway Galaxy.

 

Day Two – Cosmic Exploration Continues

  • 1:00 AM – Refresh yourself with a warm cup of late-night tea.
  • 2:00 AM – Interactive Q&A session—ask, learn, and dive deeper into the mysteries of the universe.
  • 4:45 AM – Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise as the night fades into dawn, marking the perfect end to a celestial adventure.
  • 6:30 AM – Conclude the stargazing session with a refreshing cup of tea and snacks, embracing the morning serenity.
  • 10:00 AM – Pack up, check out, and prepare for your journey back.
  • 06:00 PM – Arrive Mumbai, bidding farewell to your fellow stargazers with memories that will last a lifetime.

 

Morning Activities – A Cosmic Farewell

Witness the Sky’s Transformation – Watch as the dawn slowly takes over the night, revealing the first light of day.

Final Stargazing Moments – Spot the last few constellations fading into the morning sky with the naked eye.

Telescope Viewing – Catch a closer look at celestial objects before daylight takes over.

 

Important Notes:

    •    Event Continuation: In case of a cloudy sky, the event will proceed with engaging campfire activities and informative sessions.

    •    Weather Dependency: Stargazing is subject to weather conditions and object visibility.

    •    No Refund Policy: Cancellations or postponements due to cloudy or rainy weather will not be eligible for refunds.

    •    Self-Travel Guidelines: If arriving by personal vehicle, follow all safety protocols and ensure timely arrival at the base village. Late arrivals will not be refunded.

    •    Train Travelers: Board the train from your preferred station. Missing the train means missing the event—no refunds will be issued.

  • Any medical / Emergency evacuations if required.

  • A bottle of water (at least 2 Ltrs)
  • Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits, etc
  • Towel, a napkin
  • Jacket/ Sweater, Extra clothes 
  • D-SLR with Tripod (Optional)
  • Scarf, Cap, Sunglasses, etc (optional)
  • Medicine those if u require usually
  • Floaters
  • A Rucksack or Daysack to put in all the things to be carried
  • Do not carry sling bags or zholas.

Covid Safety Guidelines

  • Before planning for any adventure activity, please improve your minimum physical fitness. Most of us have been at home for a lockdown period.
  • Please convey your real medical conditions to Treks and Trails India while enrolling for the event.
  • Kindly wear three-layered masks, N95. Carry an extra disposable mask with you. Please ensure all participants, leaders, staff, and general persons wear masks before interacting with them.
  • Carry with your hand wash, sanitizer bottle, and clean your hands before touching food and objects.
  • Cover-up wear full sleeves shirts and full pants, hiking shoes, caps, and face bandana over your mask. Covering up will help reduce exposure to the Covid19 virus.
  • Bring your food and water with necessary cutlery like utility mug, fork, and spoon. Your mug can be used for cooking, eating, and drinking water. Carry your reusable water bottles; please don’t share with others.
  • Cooperate for temperature checks, questions reading any symptoms, and oxygen level checks; these are done to help you limit the spread of the virus. All these checks will be conducted multiple times during the activities.
  • Kindly do not register for the event or travel if you have come in contact with someone who has Covid19 in the last 14 days.
  • If you have any symptoms like fever, dry cough, weakness, body aches, etc., at the time of screening. You won't be able to participate in the event. You will have to be evacuated on the medical condition and should report to the nearest healthcare center.
  • Maintain a distance of six feet or more while sleeping at night. Incase distance is not possible, try sleeping in a criss-cross manner to avoid face proximity.
  • Please bring your garbage back to the city and dispose of it in your bin.
  • Consuming any alcohol, cigarettes, pan masala, tobacco, drugs should be avoided; they induce a lot of spitting, urinating, and passive smoke, which can be harmful for the general population.
  • Avoid touching new surfaces and touching your mask and face continuously.
  • If your adventure destination is overcrowded, be prepared to change your location or wait for the crowd to reduce.
  • If any participant, trek leader test positive after returning from the event within 14 days of the Activity. They should maintain transparency and inform Treks and Trails India. It will help all others isolate themselves and get tested. Participants and Treks and Trails will cooperate to help manage the situation.
  • Carry your own personal gear.
  • Keep the conversation with unknown people to a minimum and maintain a distance of more than 6 feet while talking.
  • Avoid speaking with the general population and maintain distance to keep yourself safe in these difficult times.
  • Participant need to install the Arogya Setu app
