Siddhagad literally means Valour Fort, Siddhagad is also known in Indian Freedom movement as two freedom fighters (Bhai Kotwal & Hiraji Patil were shot dead at this place by Britisher on 2nd Jan 1943. Siddhagad is the only fort in Maharashtra who has contributed in the independence war against British rule 1857-1947. There is a memorial of those freedom fighters on the other route to Siddhagad climbing from opposite side of Narivali Village.

Things to see on Siddhagad Fort Trek
- Bhimashankar Forest Sanctuary - We will trek through some of the dense forest around Mumbai passing many fruit trees like Mango and summer favourite Karvanda berry tree. We will cross many streams and waterfall.
- Siddhagad Fort Entrance Door indicating start of fort is one of the few remaining structures and fortification of the fort
- Plateau from here you can view Dhamdhamicha Dongar, Dense forest, Waterfalls, Siddhagad Balekilla
- Siddhagad wadi and Devi Temple on Machi
- Saadhuchi Guha or Cave of the monk located at middle height of Balekilla. offers good view of Gorakhgad
- Balekilla or Citadel highest point of siddhagad from here you can view Gorakhgad, Machindragad, Dhamdhamia Dongar, Bhimashankar, Malanggad . Siddhagad wadi village view is amazing from here
- Dhamdhamia or Dhamdhamicha Dongar was used by British to mount cannon and capture Siddhagad fort. Dhamdhamicha Dongar is at an higher elevation than Siddhagad Fort. Cannons were brought via Pune Bhimashankar route. Cannon shells were fired to capture Siddhagad in year 1819. Villagers can still find cannons in this dense forest
- Siddhagad waterfall is also a famous spot among tourists & hikers
- Kotwal Smarak - 30 mins from Borwadi village is Kotwal Smarak, which is dedicated to two freedom fighters Bhai Kotwal & Hiraji Patil who were shot dead at this place by a Britisher on 2nd Jan 1943.
