Lohagad Fort Trek

Lohagad Fort means Iron fort in Marathi, situated close to the hill station of Lonavala Khandala and 52 km northwest of Pune, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033 meters or 3,389 feet above sea level. The Lohagad Killa is connected to the neighbouring Visapur Fort which is at its eastern side by a small range. The range divides the basins of the Indrayani River and Pavana River rivers. Lohagad Pune overlooks the Pawna lake, located to the south of the mountain. The hill extends to the northwest to a fortified spur, called Vinchu Kata Scorpion's tail because of its resembling shape. The four large gates of Lohagad are still in good condition and reasonably intact. 

Visapur Fort Trek

The famous monsoon Sahyadri Fort is more massive than the twin fort Lohagad. Visapur Fort Lonavala at a higher altitude than Lohagad fort. Many caves, water tanks, old houses, arch, waterfalls, temples are on the Sahyadri Fort. There are two buildings which are roofless now,  are government offices from the past. A stone-built home at Visapur Fort called Peshwas Wada popularly. Lord Hanuman carving seen at the Fort, there are many temples dedicated to him at the Fort. Kothaligad Trek - Peth Fort Trek

Kothaligad is more commonly known as the fort of Peth because the village of Peth is situated at its base. The pinnacle of the Peth can be seen from the village. On reaching the top of the fort, we see caves carved in huge rocks. Along the Bhairoba cave, steep steps are carved leading to the pinnacle. Small water tanks and some cannon balls are scattered on the fort. The first one is the cave of Goddess, besides which is a water cistern and the last one is the specious Bhairoba cave. A flat floor and well-sculpted pillars are specialties of the cave.

Sondai Fort Trek

Sondai is not such a famous fort near Karjat Chowk Phata. Sondai Fort Trek is nine kilometers from Karjat railway station. It offers a beautiful view of Morbe Dam, Prabalgad, Irshalgad, Rajmachi, Songiri forts, Karnala Fort, and Matheran mountain range. Sondai Fort Karjat was used as a watchtower to protect the trade routes. Sondewadi and Wavarle are the base villages of Sondai fort. Sondewadi village is situated at 1/4th height of this Fort.

An iron ladder, has been installed. It has made the climb till the summit to seak the blessing of Sondai Devi temple safer for all the hikers and devotees. 

 Harishchandragad Trek

Harishchandragad is one of the best high forts near Mumbai, Maharashtra. Strong fortifications of this fort have multiple entry routes such as the Junnar gate route, Sadhale ghat, Nalichi wat, and Indore waat.

The carvings on the temples of Nageshwar in Khireshwar village, in the Harishchandreshwar temple and in the cave of Kedareshwar indicate that the fort belongs to the medieval period since it is related to Shaiva, Shakta or Naath. Later the fort was under the control of Moghuls. The Marathas captured it in 1747. Main attractions on Fort: Sapta Tirta Pushkarini, Kedareshwar Cave, Konkan Kada - Konkan cliff, Taramati peak, Temple of Harishchandreshwar.

Naneghat Trek

Naneghat is a mountain pass situated at an elevation of 2600 feet. The trek is famous for its ancient pass it connects the Konkan Coast and Junnar town. Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range near Junnar in Pune district of Maharashtra. While going through Malshej Ghat, we can easily get a glimpse of Naneghat after Murbad. Nane means "coin" and ghat means "pass". As this path was used as a toll booth to collect toll from traders crossing the hills. From the inscriptions in the caves indicate that Satavahana dynasty ruled here and also the Mauryan Empire. We can approach Naneghat via Vaishakhare or via Dahndya.

Andharban Trek

Andharban Trek, by its name, means a dark, dense forest. It is a gradual descend trek, where you are already on height, and you will descend till the end. It is one of the most beautiful treks in Maharashtra and has lots of things to explore. We will be walking on a ridge offering a fantastic view of the Kundalika Valley, Bhira dam, Devkund Waterfall, and the mountain ranges of Tamhini ghat. Evergreen forest covers you with shade in the first half of the trek for 6 to 8 kilometers. The Trek to Andharban further descends in Konkan to reach Bhira village around 4 kilometers. The same valley is the origin of the Kundalika river, famous for its white water Kolad river rafting.

Nestled in the lofty hills of Western Ghats is the majestic mountain pass of Malshej Ghat. Just like the hill stations of Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar and Matheran, Malshej Ghat has evolved into a tourist destination over the years. Being a surreal location all-round the year, Malshej Ghat is draped in mist and beautified with myriad species of flora and fauna.Kalu Waterfalls is one of the largest waterfalls in Maharashtra and the largest of the Malshej region.

The Kalu Waterfall plunges from a massive height of 1200 feet and is a five-layer cascade. We will only be at a distance of kilometres and a half from this gargantuan waterfall. Naneghat Reverse Waterfall Trek

A mountain pass called Naneghat is located at a height of 2600 feet. The trip, which links Junnar town and the Konkan Coast, is well-known for its historic pass. In the Pune district of Maharashtra, Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range close to Junnar. We can readily see Naneghat after Murbad as we pass over Malshej Ghat. Ghat and nane both mean "pass," or currency. As merchants crossed the hills on this road, it served as a toll booth where the toll was collected. According to the inscriptions in the caves, the Satavahana dynasty and the Mauryan Empire both reigned here. We have two options for getting to Naneghat: Vaishakhare or Dahndya.

Ratangad Trek

The word "Ratan" means "Jewel." Of all the hill forts in Sahyadri, this one is undoubtedly the crown jewel. It is situated around 4255 feet above sea level in the Ahmednagar district. It is encircled by the massive mountains of Kulang, Alang, Kalsubai, Katarabai, Ajoba, and Ghanchakkar and is located in the Ajoba mountain range. Geographically speaking, Ratangad is located in the Ahmednagar district beside the Bhandardara lake. With views of the lake and the tallest mountains in the Sahyadris, it seems to be stuck in the past. There is a historic Lord Shiva (Amruteshwar) shrine at the foot of this fort. The Amruteshwar Temple in Ratanwadi, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is about 1000 years old, is a great example of how well our ancestors built things.
