Maharashtra represents a "great nation" and is the home of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The place where the echoes of past glory can still be heard and where the fantastic past and rich civilization of the Marathas can be seen. Many empires constructed architectural wonders that have endured to tell the story of ancient eras. Maharashtra has nearly 350 forts, drawing numerous architecture enthusiasts across the country.

The British systematically destroyed many forts during the conquest and burned down all crucial forts in the Deccan in 1818. Many of these forts have become excellent rock climbing, trekking, and camping destinations.

Maharashtra fort treks is a Treks and Trails project that connects adventurers to the untamed nature and gives them a platform to develop their adventurous side while breathing fresh air.

Improve your trekking know-how with these tips

You're missing out on a lot if you haven't been trekking. Falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the sounds of nature is incredible. Everyone was hesitant about their first trekking experience, but this article should help calm some of those fears.

Bring sleeping bags appropriate for the season. If you bring a sub-zero sleeping bag to go camping in mid-summer, you might be sweating all night long. If you get a light bag in the winter, you may end up freezing and having a miserable time. You could even develop hypothermia or frostbite if it's freezing.

Before leaving, take a few minutes to make a checklist of everything you need. Nothing is worse than getting to a campsite and then finding out that you don't have what you need to be comfortable. A checklist is an excellent aid as you are packing. Try to get things together several days before you leave, so you have plenty of time.

When you pack up your campsite to go home, leave a few logs and some kindling for the next camping group. If you have arrived at your site after dark, you know how tough it can be to find firewood! It's a very nice pay-it-forward gesture that will probably help more than you can imagine.

Figure out your new gear before you go trekking. The practice does help. No one wants to get to the campground only to find out that they don't know how to use something or set up their tent. Practice with your new gear before you ever set foot on the campground.

You need to maintain your cleanliness while camping. Good hygiene is difficult when you are sometimes trekking, but you can keep yourself clean. A bottle of hand sanitizer is excellent to have so you can clean your hands before eating. You can also use rubbing alcohol on areas of your body that are not sensitive. A bar of mild biodegradable soap and a sponge can be used to take mini-baths when water resources are low.

Before leaving on a trekking trip, check the forecast for your destination. Several websites will give you the weather forecast for the week. Knowing what the weather will be like, you can plan more appropriately.

Get everything you need ready for your meals before you get to your trekking campsite. If you are only camping for a few days, this initial trip to the store should be all you need to do. Stock up on nonperishable items, too. You don't want your family or you to be hungry on your trip.

Bring duct tape on your camping trip to fix almost any problem. It can help you if something happens and your tent somehow gets torn. You can fix leaks on inflatable beds, tape up shoes, seal any bug netting, and much more.

Cross-contamination is not an issue that only affects people that cook at home. When cooking outdoors, you still have to worry about not using the same cutting board to cut meat that you do to cut any other foods. If you only have one board, use both sides.

Water is critical for your survival when hiking in the backcountry. Carry water purification tablets with you or some water filter capable of filtering out bacteria. There are many different kinds available at your local sporting goods store. When looking for a water source, ensure the water is flowing; stagnant water can kill you if not treated properly.

Make sure that you avoid any venomous plants. An excellent way to do this is to stop at the ranger station and ask what kinds of poisonous plants are in the area to identify them if you come into contact with them on the trail. Never eat anything while hiking on the course if you do not know it is edible.

When trekking, be sure to consider a few activities other than just... "trekking". The hiking and camping experience is enriched by hiking, swimming, exploring, and other things. Be sure to engage in some of these other activities to have the entire camping experience you've ever had.

Have the clothing you will pack planned out before your trip. Pack plenty of different items of clean clothing for all types of weather. Also, check the temperature so that you can dress accordingly. Sturdy shoes or closed-toe boots are essential for any camping trip.

If you leave your campsite to participate in activities like fishing or hiking, be sure you know how to get back. Many people become lost when doing these things, and it could be hard for you to be found; remember, most cell phones do not work in these areas.

Think folding chairs when packing for your camping trip. You will want folding chairs to sit in around the campfire. The best type of folding chairs are those that have a case with a strap, and this type of chair makes it easy to tote when hiking or visiting other campers.

If you plan any wilderness hiking and camping, you need to let others know where you are going and when you will be back. Many hikers have gotten lost, and no one knows they are lost because they did not leave an itinerary with someone back home. You cannot search for someone who is not missing.

If you are hiking through dense foliage, be prepared by wearing clothing that covers most of your skin. Lush greenery can hide poisonous plants, briars, thorns, and sharp tree branches. If your skin is not covered, you can expect all sorts of skin irritations, cuts, and abrasions by the end of the day.

With the advice, it's time to start planning your adventure! Use the information you learned to become a master camper. Whether camping nearby or far away, you can have a fantastic time.
